On Saturday 12th June the new extension to Cullercoats Lifeboat Station was officially opened. BBC Look North presenter Carol Malia unveiled a special brass plaque to commemorate the official unveiling of our newly extended station.

Robin Sutton, our station Co-ordinating Chairman hosted the event, he introduced the reverend Michael Slack CMP SSC, Canon Seamus Cunningham and Reverend Stuart Earl who conducted the Service of Dedication. Music came from The Salvation Army North Shields Citadel.

A pool of invited guests attended the event including local Tynemouth MP Alan Campbell, Various Ladies' Lifeboat Guilds, and Lifeboat crews from Tynemouth, Blyth and Newbiggin.

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution wish to record their thanks to, all the orginisations, businesses and individuals who have assisted Cullercoats Lifeboat Station in the past at the present and in the future.
